Our Nest

Our Nest is in a beautiful garden near the Jordánsky vodopad. It is a truly magical place in the heart of Tábor where we can hear only the gurgle of the Tismenický stream and the chirping birds. We have big willows and walnut trees, plenty of fruit bushes and growing fruit trees. Partly it is a community garden for families and seniors who grow their vegetables. The children and parents are involved in taking care of the veggie garden and having the goodies of it all year long.

Children can enjoy the big green space with butterflies and beetles around, and the huge sandpit with a lovely mud kitchen. Children have access to water that invites them to experiment and explore. (...and also encourages parents to bring spare dry clothes :) We have a fireplace for cold winter days and grilling goodies in summertime.

We have a homey and warm hut for the cold winter days due to the support of our community. Thank you for all the love, energy, time and money that you have given us!

Where?

We hope when you enter our place, you will feel at home and you will experience a sense of belonging. You and your child are very special. Our programme was designed to support you two to feel your uniqueness and find a calm time for yourselves. You can always find opportunities to spend meaningful time together.

In these early years, children experience everything through their senses. So we must be conscious of what is in their environment. Our garden and the play areas provide a high-quality sensory experience for the children and involve them in our everyday tasks of living. We used natural and recycled materials wherever we could. Everything was made simple but from the bottom of our hearts and with attention to little details.

We use lots of open-ended ‘toys’ such as loose parts, costumes, and hats that will encourage your child to use her/his imagination and play creatively and freely. You might see just a pine cone or a bunch of sticks but these will turn into small animals, cars, aeroplanes, cakes or wooden spoons for cooking.

This is your space too. We take care of it together. This will be an important grown-up activity during our sessions. Children imitate what they see in everyday life. Cooking, cleaning, and working in the garden are activities that inspire them a lot.
