  • It is a playgroup led by Timi who is a warm-hearted person with a gift to connect with young children. It is also a support group and a community. The participants are the same each time so it gives safety and a sense of belonging to both children and parents.

  • Our intention is to give space for families to slow down and have an unhurried morning during the week in a peaceful and nurturing environment. It is also a gentle preparation for nursery or kindergarten, as we have a simplified kindergarten rhythm.

  • It is a permanent group that you join with your child and commit yourself to the community for at least a term. A term is about 6-7 sessions depending on public holidays.

  • There is a big focus on spending time outdoors even when it rains or is cold. Free play happens in an age-appropriate environment. Play will be messy, muddy and dirty as the heart of our outdoor space is the mud kitchen. Children can use water, sand and soil for their play. We suggest waterproof clothing from autumn to springtime.

  • Please, be mindful when choosing to clothe for your child and yourself and always bring extra clothes and nappies to keep your child dry and warm.

  • This group is for children and parents so the activities that we do are also for children and grown-ups. During free play, grown-ups do something meaningful that children can imitate. We do not chat or spend time on our phones. It doesn’t mean that we don’t talk to each other but we don’t get distracted by long chats. The children can join in the grown-up activities if or when they feel like but it is not necessary. Their work is to play.

  • Younger siblings are welcome. Please, mind that we can accept a maximum of 3 siblings per group.

  • During the session, we share a meal together. We provide tea and coffee and we take turns in the group baking a cake as a snack. Parents are asked to bring a piece of fruit or vegetable each time.

  • It is in an English-speaking playgroup. Your English knowledge is not essential but a basic understanding is useful. Even if you don't speak English at all, you will be able to follow along with the activities.

  • If your only concern is your English, please join us, there will be someone in the group who will translate the necessary info you need.

  • We speak English but we don't teach English. It is important to clarify it as we believe that academic learning starts at the age of 7. English teaching is not the aim of the programme but learning will happen naturally as your child and you will hear the guidance, rhymes and songs and group discussions in English throughout the whole term.

  • It is a Waldorf/Steiner and Pikler-inspired playgroup. Both approaches respect the child from birth as a competent and whole human being. We care about the child's body, mind and soul too. Gentle and respectful care, free play and an age-appropriate environment are important parts of our principles. Read more about our approaches.

  • Your presence is essential and your role has a big part in the success of the time spent meaningfully.

  • Children play freely without all unnecessary intervention. The environment and all the elements are designed carefully to be used without grown-up assistance so we don’t have to worry about our little ones. On the other hand, we are always close to them to be available if they need support.

  • We follow up-to-date child developmental research and studies as we truly believe that taking care of little children is the most meaningful work so we strive to learn continuously and improve our methods and practices.

  • Observation and self-reflective practice and asking for feedback are parts of our working routine so we can adjust and shape our programme to the needs of the children.

Our Rhythm

  • The membership fee for the playgroup is 400 Kč per session (2 hours). It needs to be paid for the whole term. A term is about 1,5 - 2 months long and 6 - 7 sessions. It means you pay 2400-2800 Kč depending on the number of sessions in the particular term.

  • At the end of the first session, you can decide if you commit yourself to the term. Taking part in a term ensures continuity for both children and parents and secures your place in the group. If you decide not to join us, you pay just for the first session.

  • You have to fill out an Application form for the first playgroup session with some basic information about you and your child(ren).

  • Upon receiving your application form, we will send you an email if we can offer a place for you and your child(ren) for the term.

  • We can take only 3 younger siblings per group so it can be a circumstance that influences your spot if you apply with more children. We will offer the spots to those who applied earlier. Younger siblings can join the playgroup for free until they start to walk. When they become toddlers (15 months), you will need to pay 100 for your younger child.

  • If we cannot offer a place for you, you will be put on a Waiting List. If someone drops out during the term, we will let you know and you can join us.

  • Parents and children who already participated have priority for joining the next term.

  • Please, note that we do not refund money. If you and your child cannot attend more than half of the sessions due to illness you can request a voucher that you can use up in the next term. Missed sessions can be covered in the other group and we usually have an Extra Session at the end of the term.

  • We offer interactive workshops for parents on the topic of parenting and childhood throughout the year where you can ask questions, share ideas and get inspiration from others. You can join for half price if you are a member of the playgroup.
